Dr. Slavoski L. Wright Sr. is a devoted servant of God, husband, father, grandfather, pastor, author, and public safety leader. He is blessed to share life and ministry with his wife, First Lady Umeka Wright. Together, they are the proud parents of six wonderful children: Kori, Slavoski II, Hannah, Braylon, Ryan, and Dixon, and the loving grandparents of Kade and Haven. Dr. Wright and his family currently reside in Grand Prairie, Texas, and he firmly believes that every step of his life continues to be ordered by God.
Dr. Wright’s life and ministry have been deeply shaped by his family, especially his mother, Bobbie, and his grandparents, the late Dr. C. C. McNealy Jr. and the late Ellen McNealy. He spent a great deal of time with his grandparents, whose wisdom, love, discipline, and faith helped shape the man and minister he is today. One phrase from his grandfather continues to guide him: “You know where you been, but you don’t know where you going.” Those words remain a powerful reminder of faith, humility, and trust in God’s plan.
It was under the leadership and guidance of his grandfather, Dr. C. C. McNealy Jr., at Greater El Bethel Baptist Church, where Dr. McNealy served as pastor, that Dr. Wright accepted his call to preach the uncompromising gospel of Jesus Christ. Since that time, Dr. Wright has faithfully served in several ministry roles, including Youth Pastor and Assistant Pastor of Greater El Bethel Baptist Church, Youth Pastor of Community Missionary Baptist Church in DeSoto, Texas, under the leadership of Dr. Oscar D. Epps Sr., and Youth Pastor of Great Commission Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Douglas Brown.
Today, Dr. Wright serves as the Senior Pastor of The Historic Greater El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. Located in the historic Tenth Street District of Oak Cliff, Greater El Bethel continues to stand as a church rooted in legacy, faith, service, and community impact. Under Dr. Wright’s leadership, the church remains committed to preaching sound biblical doctrine, strengthening families, serving the community, and helping people grow in their walk with God.
Dr. Wright is also a published author. Alongside First Lady Umeka Wright, he co-authored the bestselling devotional, Blended and Loving It: A Thirty-Day Devotional for Blended Families, a work inspired by their own heart for faith, family, and blended family ministry. He is also the author of Faith to Elevate: Start Where You Are. Elevate by Faith., a 30-day devotional designed to encourage readers to grow spiritually, trust God fully, and take intentional steps forward in faith.
Dr. Wright is a graduate of Justin F. Kimball High School in the Dallas Independent School District. After answering God’s call to preach, he continued his education by earning both a Bachelor of Christian Ministry and a Master of Christian Ministry from Wayland Baptist University. He also holds an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from North Central Theological Seminary. Continuing his commitment to lifelong learning and ministry leadership, Dr. Wright is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from Liberty University, with an expected completion date in the summer of 2027.
In addition to his ministry work, Dr. Wright serves vocationally in law enforcement and public safety. He is a graduate of the North Central Texas Council of Governments Police Academy and holds a Certified Master Peace Officer License in the State of Texas. He currently serves as a Police Lieutenant and Regional Manager for Public Safety with Baylor Scott & White Health, where he provides leadership, oversight, and support across multiple hospital campuses.
Dr. Wright is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American men. His commitment to leadership, service, brotherhood, and community advancement continues to reflect both his calling and his character.
Above all, Dr. Wright’s desire is to honor God, love his family, serve people, preach the gospel with conviction, and lead others toward a greater life of faith, purpose, and obedience in Jesus Christ.
