First Lady Umeka D. Wright

First Lady Umeka Wright, affectionately known as “Lady Umeka,” serves alongside her husband, Dr. Slavoski L. Wright Sr. Pastor of the historic Greater El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church located in the Tenth Street District in Dallas, Texas. 

She is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Psychology. She also holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Angelo State University. Professionally, Lady Umeka, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and serves as the Director of Student and Employee Wellness for a local school district. 

Compassionate about helping others, Lady Umeka birthed Making It Wright Counseling Group. It is her passion to provide counseling and coaching services to empower, encourage and equip individuals with the necessary tools to alleviate and eliminate the stressors of life. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 

After joining families in 2006, Lady Umeka and Dr. Wright saw the importance of leaning on God’s word while blending families. In December of 2020 they co-wrote a best-selling blended family devotional, “Blended and Loving It” A Thirty-Day Devotional for Blended Families. The blended family devotional is full of great motivation from real-life experiences and backed by the Word of God.

Lady Umeka and Dr. Wright have six children and one grandchild. She holds to her heart and uses as motivation her favorite scripture “Jesus looked at them and said, “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” ~Matthew 19:26.
